Spiritual Mentoring is the logical next step after discipleship in the Spiritual Journey of a believer, in pursuit of their Destiny! The days of Elijah are about discipleship, parenting, mentoring and releasing into the great harvest and into their destiny!

The Great Commission

Mentoring builds on the foundation laid in the process of discipleship.
Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

The Five-fold in Action
Mentoring is one of the key objective of a five-fold minister!
Ephesians 4:11-12 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.
It is the ever important process of raising up this next generation of leaders, warriors, champions, world changers, and history makers.

What to look for in a mentor

  1. Is there common ground? I should not ask someone to mentor me in an area out of their area of expertise and influence!
  2. Is it good ground? Can I see the fruit of the Spirit and fruitfulness in the life and ministry of the individual? He said “know a tree by the fruit it bears”- has this person raised up other individuals in this area?
  3. Willingness to commit to mentor you! You need to sit down and discuss it and agree upon it and the terms and conditions of the relationship.
  4. Timing. Sometimes it’s the right and proper relationship but the timing isn’t right. Sometimes there needs to be something completed as a condition prior to mentoring.
  5. Do I feel this is a person I’m going to be willing to submit to and respect the position in my life?
  6. Many mentors are busy and will have others help in the process do I respect those individuals as well?
